EL PERIÓDICO presents the Automobile Barcelona awards

Barcelona has always been a city open to the world of the automobile and progress. Many companies and manufacturers they have been linked for a long time more than 100 years to the exhibition and, for 14 editions, the show has wanted to show its gratitude to those who have always been on the side of mobility and a strategic sector such as the automotive industry.

Since 2017, ELPERIÓDICO and Automobile Barcelona have jointly awarded these awards, seeking to recognize these companies and individuals who are guarantors of progress. In this edition, number 14, developed under the sponsorship of Ford Romacar, the winners have shown the best face of a sector in full industrial transformation.

Five categories have been awarded. The first, ‘Be The One’, recognizes the commercial trajectory of the best car model sold in Spain in 2022. Hyundai Tucson managed to be the ‘top sales’ with 21,985 units. He received the award from the director of EL PERIÓDICO, Albert Sáez, and its general director Leopoldo Satrústegui.

The ‘Be Charge’ category, which rewards industrial visibility related to electrification, went to the Electromobility HUB, collecting the trophy from the general director of EL PERIÓDICO, Félix Noguera, and its manager, Joan Orús.

The ‘Be Connected’ went to the hands of the Chinese brand BYD for its development in terms of connectivity and electrification. Its European product manager, Pere Brugal, received the award from Xavier Pérez, motor director of Prensa Ibérica.

In ‘Be Green’, the CEO of Renault Spain, Sebastian Guigues, thanked the award for the company’s work on electrification. He collected the award from the marketing director of EL PERIÓDICO, Anna Doménech.

Lucas Casasnovas, director of SeatMO, was in charge of collecting the ‘Be Mobility’ award for the work of the Seat brand in the development of micromobility. The award was presented to him by the president of Automobile Barcelona, ​​Enrique Lacalle.

Finally, the award for Professional Trajectory went to Jose Vicente de los Mozos (who could not attend the delivery and whose trophy was collected by Jesús Presa), promoter from Anfac of Automobile Barcelona and the automotive industry in Spain.
