It took a long time, now it’s finally here!
Two weeks ago, BILD reported exclusively that Chidera Ejuke (24) is moving from CSKA Moscow to Hertha.
Due to visa problems, however, the newcomer had to stay in Russia longer than planned. On Wednesday, the winger finally completed the medical check in Berlin.
Ejuke could already travel to the training camp in St. George’s Park in England on Thursday and join the team. Thanks to a Fifa rule as a result of the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine, the Nigerian was able to unilaterally suspend his contract.
“Chidera has already proven himself in several European leagues, brings good technique and versatility and a lot of pace. We are convinced that he will enrich our game with his skills,” said Hertha manager Fredi Bobic.
Hertha is loaning him out for a year with no option to buy. Ejuke’s first appearance in the Berlin jersey could follow on Saturday – Hertha will play three friendlies against Halifax, Salford and Derby.
Ejuke is coming – but is Dedryck Boyata (31) going?
According to Turkish media reports, Turkish champions Trabzonspor are enticing the captain with the Champions League. There is even talk of an offer totaling 3.5 million euros.
According to reports, Hertha has not yet received a specific request for the Belgian (contract until 2024).
