Eisbären remain ahead after their tenth away win in a row

With their tenth away win in a row, the Eisbären Berlin have maintained their lead in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

Almost three weeks after the bitter 0:3 home defeat against the Iserlohn Roosters, the DEL record champions prevailed at Seilersee after being behind twice with 5:3 (0:1, 2:2, 3:0) and thus avoided another slip-up .

The Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven moved into second place with a 3:1 (1:0, 1:0, 1:1) win over the Augsburger Panthers. The Straubing Tigers slipped to third place after losing 0:3 (0:1, 0:1, 0:1) at the Kölner Haien.

The Adler Mannheim took a first step out of the crisis. After five defeats in a row, the supposed title candidate fought against the Düsseldorfer EG after being 2-0 down with 3:2 (0:1, 1:1, 2:0) and celebrated their first win in the fifth game under new coach Dallas Eakins . As tenth in the table, Mannheim is clearly lagging behind its own expectations.

The Grizzlys Wolfsburg and the Schwenninger Wild Wings are back on track for the play-offs. After two defeats, the Lower Saxony defeated the Nuremberg Ice Tigers 3:1 (1:0, 1:1, 1:0), the Black Forest defeated the Löwen Frankfurt 6:3 (3:2, 1:0, 2) after three defeats :1). Defending champions Red Bull Munich had already suffered their third defeat with a 2-1 defeat in their third duel with runners-up ERC Ingolstadt on Thursday.

The Eisbären fought back from a 2-0 deficit, but Hunter Shinkaruk gave Iserlohn the lead again just 22 seconds after the equalizer (39′). Ty Ronning (44th) and Morgan Ellis (49th/59th) turned the game in favor of the Berliners. In Mannheim, of all people, ex-Düsseldorfer Daniel Fischbuch decided the game (59th).
