The Eisbären Berlin suffered another defeat in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) after two wins.
On Sunday, the capital city team lost 2:4 (2:0, 0:2, 0:2) against the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven after a 2:0 lead. Manuel Wiederer and Blaine Byron scored for the Berliners, who gave up the game after a strong first third.
In front of 13,198 spectators in the Arena at Ostbahnhof, the home team started with concentration and hardly allowed the guests to get into the game. Wiederer took the lead, and Byron extended the lead in Berlin’s first power play in the opening third.

Immediately after the first break, however, the capital city team were taken by surprise. After just six seconds, Colt Conrad shortened the gap with a power-play goal for Bremerhaven. The Berliners now lost order at times and incurred a number of time penalties. Nicholas Jensen took advantage of another power play from the guests to equalize.
The North Germans also got off to a better start in the final period and took the lead for the first time after 23 seconds with Conrad’s second goal. The capital city team tried to equalize, but had no luck in the end.
Jan Urbas finally made the decision in favor of the guests shortly before the end of the game.
