The Eisbären Berlin suffered their second defeat in a row in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL). On Friday evening, the German champions lost 6-1 (0-3, 1-2, 0-1) against the Iserlohn Roosters. Only Kevin Clark scored for the capitals, who offered a very weak performance.

In front of 10,596 spectators in the arena at the Ostbahnhof, the home side suffered numerous puck losses and inattention on the defensive right from the start. Eric Cornel was able to score the early opening goal for the guests and celebrate his second goal a little later after a counterattack.

After that, the Berliners hardly managed anything, while Kaspars Daugavins extended the Iserlohner lead eleven seconds before the first break.

After the restart, the hosts increased the pressure. Clark was able to shorten for the capitals, but Christopher Brown immediately restored the old distance. Former Eisbären professional Sven Ziegler scored the fifth goal for the Sauerland team, who arrived from bottom of the table, in the second third.

In the final section, the Berliners kept trying, but in attack they still lacked the necessary determination and precision to make the game exciting again. The guests, on the other hand, got a powerplay goal from Ryan O’Connor.
