Stand behind Chief Holzer
In the leadership dispute at Eintracht Frankfurt, the supervisory board has backed its chairman Philip Holzer and asked spokesman Axel Hellmann to stay with the Bundesliga club. One has confidence in Holzer, it said in a statement published on Friday evening. “At the same time, the councilors emphasized that they absolutely wanted to keep Hellmann as board spokesman. Hellmann’s appointment to one of two interim managing directors of the DFL was approved in an emergency situation in the league. This commitment is valid until June 30, 2023,” it said.
Hellmann is currently managing the German Football League (DFL) on an interim basis together with Oliver Leki from SC Freiburg. He is said to have toyed with the idea of taking over the management of the DFL completely from summer and leaving Eintracht. There have always been tensions between Hellmann and Holzer. The two officials met on March 15 for a discussion.

The association wants “a settlement of the differences”. President Peter Fischer also wants to hold talks with Hellmann and Holzer. “Differences and different opinions are part of it, but they shouldn’t be played out in public. Divisive communication is harmful,” said Fischer.
The supervisory board of Eintracht Frankfurt Fußball AG supports Philip Holzer and wants to keep Axel Hellmann.
