Eintracht Frankfurt – Sebastian Rode calls for reinforcements: “Need quality”

Captain Sebastian Rode from Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt is calling for further personnel reinforcements with a view to the coming season of the Bundesliga soccer club in the Champions League.

“So that the Bundesliga doesn’t suffer from it again, we definitely need more quality – in breadth and at the top,” said the 31-year-old Rode to “Bild am Sonntag”: “The foundation stone has already been laid, it some new players will join us. And now, with a few million more, there should be something to find on the transfer market, especially for the offensive.”

In order to survive in the premier class, the SGE should “not freeze in awe,” explained Rode. “We’re already in pot one, you’re avoiding some top-class players. Otherwise you’re playing at the same time as in the Europa League, just on a different day.”

The end of a career is not an issue for the injury-prone midfielder, despite the biggest triumph of his career. “You mean the thought, ‘If we get this thing, what’s next?’ I’ll tell you what’s to come: the Champions League with Eintracht Frankfurt. And that’s why this thought quickly disappeared. I definitely want to experience that.”
