Eintracht Frankfurt Rode: No end of career because of Champions League

Matchmaking “with a few million more”

Sebastian Rode will continue to be available to Eintracht Frankfurt after winning the Europa League title and qualifying for the 2022/23 Champions League. The midfielder, who has been plagued by injuries in the past, brushes aside any thoughts of an approaching end to his career. The surprising and outstanding triumph is no reason for an immediate retreat.

“You mean the thought, ‘Once we get this thing, what’s next?’ I’ll tell you what’s to come: the Champions League with Eintracht Frankfurt. And that’s why this thought quickly disappeared. I definitely want to experience that,” said the 31-year-old in an interview with the “Picture on Sunday”. Rode is still under contract with SGE until 2024.

In the next home game, the SBU received Apollon Limassol from Cyprus. Conclusion: Third win in the third game after Marseille had already been defeated away in a ghost game at the beginning.

21.02.2019: 4-1 against Shakhtar Donetsk

It should have been a breathtaking choreo again… But due to arguments with the local police, the choreo was called off by the Eintracht fans at short notice.

In the 2021/22 quarter-final first leg, all seats in Deutsche Bank Park are occupied for the first time since the pandemic began. The Eintracht fans dedicate the choreo to the late club legend Jürgen Grabowski. In the second leg at the Camp Nou, which was won 3-2, 30,000 came from Frankfurt and thus plunged the Catalans into a short club crisis.

05/05/2022: 1-0 v West Ham

After the 2-1 away win in London, Eintracht won’t be denied a place in the final, even in front of their home crowd. The choreo is all about the north-west curve on which the fans are standing.

18.05.2022: 6: 5 nE against Glasgow Rangers

“Holy Diva from the Main – Pray for us” was what the fans said before the game with this goose bumps choreography. The requests were heard: Eintracht is the European Cup winner for the first time since 1980.

At the beginning of February, the professional revealed that he might want to resign sooner. “I still have a good two years of contract and I make no secret of the fact that it won’t go much longer after that. If at all,” Rode explained to the “image” at the time. In view of the coming triple burden and participation in the “premier class”, the Frankfurt captain sees a need for action in personnel planning.

The team spirit is undisputedly good, “but so that the Bundesliga doesn’t suffer from it again, we definitely need more quality – across the board and at the top,” said Rode, adding: “The foundation stone has already been laid, it some new players will join us. And now, with a few million more, there should also be something to be found on the transfer market, especially for the offensive. You could see that in the final, where Rafael Borré, as the sole leader, had to hold out until the end.”

Eintracht Frankfurt has already made four free transfers perfect

In the past season, Eintracht took the disappointing eleventh place in the Bundesliga, while under new coach Oliver Glasner the maximum was achieved in the European Cup. So far, Randal Kolo Muani (23, FC Nantes), Faride Alidou (20, HSV), Jérôme Onguéné (24, RB Salzburg) and young player Marcel Wenig (18, FC Bayern U19) are sure to join the new season – all are free transfers to the Main. The current squad value of Hessen is 199 million euros. In an international comparison of all this year’s Champions League participants, this would mean 25th place (of 32) just behind Red Bull Salzburg.
