Mario Götze is back in the Bundesliga. The former star of FC Bayern and BVB has joined Eintracht Frankfurt for the new season after his adventure abroad. The 30-year-old will be officially introduced to the Adlerträger on Tuesday afternoon.

Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt started the pre-season this morning. Götze, who came from PSV Eindhoven for around three million euros, was the focus of the first team training session. The midfielder had found his way back in Eindhoven in the past two years after difficult years. The final goalscorer from 2014 has a three-year contract with the Hessian Bundesliga club.
After the performance tests on Monday, coach Oliver Glasner welcomed Götze and newcomer Lucas Alario (29) to the pitch in front of hundreds of fans. The national players, who were last in action, will start training next Monday. Kevin Trapp and Filip Kostic will have a longer break until July 7th. However, the future of the Serb is open, he is said to be about to move to Juventus.
Eintracht will play their first competitive game on August 1 in the DFB Cup at 1. FC Magdeburg. After the Bundesliga opener against record champions Bayern Munich (5 August), the Hessians travel to Helsinki for the UEFA Supercup against Champions League winners Real Madrid (10 August).
