Eintracht Frankfurt: Lindstrøm change to SSC Napoli perfect

Big plus for SGE

Eintracht Frankfurt’s attacking midfielder Jesper Lindstrøm is leaving the Bundesliga for Italy. As the SGE and SSC Napoli announced, the 23-year-old will be permanently handed over to the Italian champions. Most recently, there was talk of a loan in media reports, after which a purchase obligation should apply, which would give the Dane a contract until 2028 with a salary of around 2.3 million euros per season. For the Hessians, the deal is associated with a decent transfer plus.

Gianluca Di Marzio recently wrote that Frankfurt will initially receive 5 million euros as a rental fee for Lindstrøm, before 20 million euros including bonuses will be due in the future. With a total of just those 25 million euros, the right foot, who came from Brondby IF for 7 million euros in 2021, would be the third most expensive departure in Eintracht club history and, together with Jannik Vestergaard, the third most expensive Dane in history. Now everything looks like a permanent transfer.

Napoli and Juventus are said to have shown interest in Lindstrøm, who has made nine appearances for the Danish national team. In 80 games, the midfielder had scored 14 goals for SBU and prepared another 14, taking his market value to a career high of currently €28m. When he moved to Frankfurt, this was still 7 million euros.

Frankfurt’s sporting director Markus Krösche said: “Jesper has played a large part in our positive development over the past two years. He will always associate winning the Europa League title, reaching the DFB Cup final and last but not least many special moments in the Bundesliga with Eintracht and vice versa. Jesper’s time in Frankfurt was also characterized by strong individual development, which is also a good example of how, as a club, we are able to take highly talented players to the next level. We wish him all the best for his future in Naples.”
