Tuta (26) will no longer stand for Eintracht Frankfurt on the pitch in the upcoming season, but in Qatar. On Monday, the long-standing SGE defender’s departure to the Al-Duhail SC became officially. The Brazilian, for whom a replacement of 15 million euros should flow, was able to leave Bundesliga clubs, explained sports director Markus Krösche with the role of Tuta in recent harmony.

“Tuta has been an important part of our team in recent years and has a large part in the development and success of the Eintracht during this time,” said Krösche. “By winning the UEFA Europa League, he will be part of the club history forever. It was therefore a matter of course for us that we meet his desire to change. We wish him only the best on his further way.”

Regardless of Tuta’s wish, the personnel in Frankfurt was also an issue with urgent need for action; He could have changed free of charge in the coming year. For the SGE it was therefore necessary to make a decision either for extension or for sale. Tuta has taken the choice to the club with his wish, which also flushes a decent sum into the Hesse coffers. In 2019, only 1.8 million euros were paid to São Paulo. In his 187 games since then, the central defender also contributed ten goals and three assists. In between, the Frankfurters had awarded the player to Belgium for a season.

With Tuta’s departure, Eintracht Frankfurt’s income is increasing to almost 120 million euros this summer. Only Bayer Leverkusen is better after the extremely lucrative sales of Florian Wirtz in this regard. In the Main, however, 95 million euros were also taken with Hugo Ekitiké (23, FC Liverpool). The Eintracht expenditure for new players has so far amounted to just under 32 million euros.

In Qatar, Tuta meets the veteran Marco Verratti (32) or Luis Alberto (32) and the former Hertha striker Krzysztof Piatek (30). However, none at Al-Duhail comes to the amount of Tuta’s current market value.
