Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt can fall back on captain Sebastian Rode in their first away game in the Champions League.
“We are very happy that Sebastian is back a little earlier than expected,” said coach Oliver Glasner: “He hasn’t done anything for a week, so we won’t decide together until the day of the game which season he is capable of.”
Rode had paused for ten days because of a muscle injury in his thigh. The Italian newcomer Luca Pellegrini will be absent due to a slight thigh problem. On Tuesday (9:00 p.m.) at Olympique Marseille, it’s about “doing better” than last week and “getting the first points in the Champions League,” emphasized Glasner.
However, this will be anything but easy, because Marseille is a “very good team in very good form”, explained the Austrian: “They have a clear structure, but are still very variable in possession. They have a lot of pace on the outside . Defensively they play man-to-man, don’t give you much time.”
