“Sport Bild” report
The future of coach Oliver Glasner is one of the predominant topics at Eintracht Frankfurt. The 48-year-old is contractually bound to SGE until 2024, but can leave the Bundesliga early thanks to an exit clause. According to “Sport Bild”, the coach would have to pull that option until the last competitive game of the season if he wanted to take on a new challenge in the summer.
If Glasner allowed the exit clause to expire, the fee would have to be freely negotiated after the 34th matchday on May 27th – or after a possible DFB Cup final on June 3rd. Eintracht and sports director Markus Krösche are said to be working on expanding the cooperation until June 2026. According to the magazine, Glasner’s salary could increase from 2.1 million to around 3 million euros a year – including bonuses. The coach wants to take his time with his decision, because a signature is tantamount to an absolute commitment to the club and leaving in the summer afterwards would no longer be an issue. Money is not the decisive criterion for him.

Recently it was said that Tottenham Hotspur has Glasner on the list as a possible successor to Antonio Conte. According to “Sport Bild” he was also observed by Chelsea and Real Madrid. As he recently remarked, Glasner cannot understand the unrest surrounding his person. “It’s an issue in the whole environment, the whole club. We don’t have a direct influence on what happens on the management floor. I’m not involved, so I can’t and don’t want to comment on it, but of course it’s not nice for anyone – no matter which club we choose now – if there’s any unrest,” Glasner told the TV channel “Sky”.
Reports about differences of opinion between him and manager Krösche had recently fueled the situation of Frankfurt, who was currently suffering from sporting difficulties. “I haven’t told anyone that I want to leave the club. Everything I say is not believed anyway and that’s why I don’t say anything about it,” Glasner complained. According to the latest report, Frankfurt are anything but without a chance with a view to an extension. Apparently that’s only the case if top clubs with a realistic chance of winning the Champions League should get serious.
