Eintracht Frankfurt: Glasner wants to speak to Rafael Borre

Rumors about switch thoughts

Eintracht Frankfurt’s head coach Oliver Glasner wants to approach the currently dissatisfied striker Rafael Borré. “I’ll have a longer chat with him. On the one hand, I understand that he is not satisfied. But it shouldn’t be the team that suffers either,” said Glasner late on Wednesday evening after his team’s 3-2 draw in the Champions League at Tottenham Hotspur. The coach was confronted with how Borré behaved on the field after being substituted on in the 69th minute.

“At the moment he’s a bit caught up in this understandable constellation. Which doesn’t satisfy us as Eintracht,” said Glasner. The 48-year-old drew parallels to his own career. Borré was still a celebrated Eintracht hero in May when he first equalized 1-1 against Glasgow Rangers in the Europa League final and later converted the decisive penalty on penalties. This season, the 27-year-old Colombian is only a reserve player, because most of the time newcomer Randal Kolo Muani plays at the top. The 23-year-old has scored the most points of any newcomer to the Bundesliga and has contributed seven goals in eight games in the top flight.

The Spanish newspaperAS“Most recently even speculated about Borré’s thoughts on a change and a possible transfer to LaLiga in winter. The 19-time national player is still under contract with Eintracht until 2025, so if he were to leave, a not inconsiderable fee would be due. Borré’s market value is 20 million euros, in the “Adler” squad only Evan Ndicka (32 million), Djibril Sow and Daichi Kamada (22 million each) are valued higher.

In the Eintracht forum at Transfermarkt, “MoaMoa7” criticized Borré for his performance against Tottenham: “Unfortunately, Alario and Borré are also complete disappointments. Borré is wrong on the ball, completely lethargic in attack, doesn’t tie balls, doesn’t create chances, and has a 5-meter radius in which to control the ball. Just running at the opponent just doesn’t do anything, especially when you have a Kolo Muani in front of you. Then you can’t complain when you’re sitting on the bench.” TM user “Fan18” has a more merciful view of the attacker’s game: “Borré has a hard time, even if little got around again.”
