The Europa League final in Seville was probably the biggest highlight of the fan life for the Eintracht supporters who traveled with them. But two of them were injured, one seriously.
When Rafael Borré scored the important 1-1 equalizer for Eintracht Frankfurt against Rangers from Glasgow, all dams broke in the away block. But the jubilation from the supporters of the Hessians also had its dark side.
Because two of the fans who had traveled with them fell down a few rows, as RTL commentator Marco Hagemann announced during the game. According to a report by “Bild”, one suffered a broken tibia and fibula. He is scheduled to have surgery on Thursday. The fans cut off the noisy support during the treatment.
The Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán was built in the 1950s and has been renovated several times since then, but the stairways that are not calibrated in many parts and the lack of breakwaters or dividers between individual rows in some blocks are a safety risk.
The two Frankfurt supporters also fell victim to this.
There is no new status on the health of the two fans yet. Since Eintracht Frankfurt has not yet announced anything and the fans have resumed support, it is to be hoped that the shock will remain.
