See you at the youth club this summer
After Krisztián Lisztes (18), Eintracht Frankfurt has signed the next up-and-coming young player for the coming season. Nathaniel Brown (20) is moving from 1. FC Nürnberg to SGE and will spend the second half of the season on loan with the Franconians. The U21 international signed a contract with the Bundesliga seventh team until 2029.
According to TM information, the transfer fee is at least 3 million euros, but the amount can double through bonuses. It had previously been reported that the basis was around 2.5 million euros. If Brown asserts himself immediately and is used regularly, up to 6 million euros could be due. Nuremberg would also receive a percentage of the transfer fee in the event of a resale.

Brown is one of the winners of the 2023 calendar year at the “Club”. The left-back made his professional debut in March, which quickly led to a regular place. Since then, its market value has catapulted to 3 million euros, which doubled in the last update.
Eintracht Frankfurt: Brown should “continue positive development”
As things stand, Brown will be competing with Philipp Max (30) and Niels Nkounkou (23) at the back left in Frankfurt. The latter was signed as a last-minute transfer in the summer and only plays a minor role in the Bundesliga. Max was last placed, but his status suffered a setback when he was not nominated for the Conference League squad at the start of the season.
SGE sports director Timmo Hardung said in a statement from the club: “Nathaniel Brown is a very talented player who, despite his young age, makes an extremely mature impression on and off the pitch. We want to support him in continuing his positive development of the recent past. That’s why we have jointly agreed on a direct loan with 1. FC Nürnberg until next summer. His dynamism fits our requirements profile perfectly and we are very pleased that he will be joining us next season.”

From Nuremberg’s perspective, sports director Olaf Rebbe said: “Eintracht Frankfurt won the race and tried very hard for our boy. Accordingly, we are also satisfied with the economic result. It was also a condition for us that Nene finishes the season at the club. Nene can serve as a role model for the players from our NLZ. With the necessary patience and conviction, he always believed in his path and constantly developed further. Until he started with strong performances among the professionals.”
Sports director Dieter Hecking said: “As much as we would like to see all of our highly talented players play at the club in the next few years, we have to be just as realistic. Given the economic conditions, 1. FC Nürnberg is not a club that can do without transfer income. We are currently training and, if offers are high enough, we also have to sell players. It’s the same with Nene’s change.”
