At market value level with Moukoko
Striker Mohamed-Ali Cho’s move from SCO Angers to Real Sociedad in Spain is perfect. The Basques officially introduced the 18-year-old on Wednesday evening, Cho has signed a contract with San Sebastian until 2027. The transfer fee is initially around 11 million euros, but according to reports it can still increase to 15 million in line with the market value.
This means that Cho, whom Transfermarkt presented in detail in the 2021 talent calendar, is among the most expensive arrivals and departures in club history for both clubs. Only four players cost more in their transfers to “La Real” or from Angers. In the spring it was said that the French had set a pain threshold of at least 20 million euros. Cho is currently the world’s most valuable striker born in 2004 – level with Dortmund’s Youssoufa Moukoko (17). Eintracht Frankfurt is also said to have tried to attract the offensive talent
Cho, who was active at youth level for Paris Saint-Germain and Everton, has been linked with a move for months. In 2019 he is said to have already visited FC Bayern and impressed in the trial training session on campus. Last year, however, the German record champions decided against a commitment because the costs of between 7 and 8 million euros that were rumored at the time were estimated to be too high. RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund have also been said to be interested in the player in the past. Cho made 32 appearances for Angers last season and scored four goals.
