ex-international
Former national player Robin Koch returns to the Bundesliga and moves to Eintracht Frankfurt. The 26-year-old defender comes to the Main metropolis for a year on loan from Premier League relegated Leeds United.
Koch had played for SC Freiburg in the German upper house from 2017 to 2020 and then switched to England for a fee of 13 million euros. There he played 77 games for the Whites within three years, 73 of them in the Premier League. Last season, Koch was Leeds’ most-used outfield player with 3,387 minutes in all competitions and also increased his market value from €16m to €18m, making him one of the most valuable professionals in the SBU squad.
Market values Eintracht Frankfurt: All important changes at a glance
“Robin is a guy who leads the way on and off the pitch and takes responsibility. At almost 27, he is the perfect footballer age, and he also brings valuable experience from the Bundesliga and Premier League, which he will bring to our team. The fact that many well-known clubs have dealt with him in recent weeks and were interested, but he chose us shows how much Robin identifies with the task. That is a very important and good prerequisite for good cooperation,” said sporting director Markus Krösche.

Koch said: “I’m really happy to be part of Eintracht Frankfurt. The club is one of the most renowned clubs in the Bundesliga and has been a flagship of German football in Europe in recent years. With the new coach, the strong squad and the opportunities here at the club, this is a very exciting challenge for me, which I’m tackling with maximum motivation. Markus Krösche and Timmo Hardung made an incredible effort to bring me to harmony and convinced me of the path and the vision. I want to contribute everything that characterizes me as a footballer on and off the field and celebrate successes with the team. I’ve matured a lot in the last three seasons at Leeds in what is perhaps the strongest league in the world – as a footballer but also as a person. I want to prove that again in the Bundesliga. I am convinced that we can have a strong season.”
