The Norwegian national player Jens Petter Hauge will continue to lace up the soccer shoes for Eintracht Frankfurt. This was announced by the European Cup winner on Saturday.

Eintracht Frankfurt announced that the 22-year-old, previously on loan from AC Milan, is now “under contract until 2026 through an activated purchase option”.

According to media reports, the transfer fee anchored in the option is around seven to eight million euros. Italian newspapers even wrote of up to twelve million euros.

Striking: An official communication from the Milanese states that a purchase obligation has taken effect due to the fulfillment of some previously agreed conditions. Eintracht Frankfurt does not mention this fact.

Hauge still has to improve at Eintracht Frankfurt

In view of the additional burden due to the start in the Champions League, the Main metropolis should have planned with the northern European anyway. However, it is also clear that Hauge has to improve in his second year at SBU: In the past season he often did not get beyond the joker role. The yield of three goals and two assists in 38 competitive games is also expandable.

For comparison: Hauge scored five times (one assist) in just 24 appearances for Milan. In his home country he scored 35 goals (30 assists) in 117 games for FK Bodö/Glimt.

“Of course you notice that Jens Petter is not in the rhythm and that’s why he sometimes makes the wrong decision,” said Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner recently to “Bild”, but emphasized that he was “very satisfied” with how fast Hauge was adapt the game as a substitute. In the Eintracht jersey, the right-footed player was also noticed again and again for the fact that he also worked defensively as an offensive player.
