Eintracht Frankfurt before a top transfer: Reports: Götze change to Frankfurt is getting closer

Now the deal with Mario Götze could go very quickly: According to information from hr-sport, Eintracht has already negotiated the transfer with the 2014 world champion.

Götze has an exit clause of four million euros at his current club PSV Eindhoven. The main focus of the negotiations was the possible salary of the player who shot Germany to the title in the 2014 World Cup final.

The approval of the inspectors is considered a formality

An annual salary of a good four million euros is said to be under discussion. This would put the 30-year-old in the category of top earners Kevin Trapp, who should earn a similar amount from the Europa League winner.

Götze himself is also said to be very keen on returning to the Bundesliga. A decision could now be made in the near future. The deal could be perfected by Eintracht as early as Monday, it is now considered a formality that the Eintracht supervisory board gives the green light.

Only Roger Schmidt could thwart Eintracht

However, two other clubs are currently vying for Götze’s favor. First is the Benfica Lisbon. Götze’s coach from PSV Eindhoven, Roger Schmidt, who made Götze strong again this summer, is moving there. In addition, the US club Inter Miami, whose owner is the former world-class player David Beckham, is trying to win the 2014 world champion. But Götze wants to focus again after almost two years in the first Dutch league.

So currently there is only Benfica Lisbon and coach Schmidt between a deal between Götze and Eintracht. Götze owes a lot to Schmidt. When the offensive player moved from Borussia Dortmund to Eindhoven in 2020, his star was on the wane. But Schmidt got Götze back on track. In addition to his fitness values, his performance on the pitch is also good: In the 52 competitive games for PSV last season, Götze scored twelve goals and also prepared eleven.

A player with Champions League experience

Götze could help Eintracht with his international experience – especially in Frankfurt’s first appearance in the Champions League. Götze made a total of 52 appearances in the premier class for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich. Eintracht Frankfurt plays – in contrast to Benfica Lisbon – thanks to the Europa League triumph – certainly in the group stage of the Champions League – and is even seeded in the first pot.

According to consistent media reports, Götze is said to be absent from the start of training for the Dutch cup winners this Monday (June 22nd, 2022). A competitor in attacking midfield for the 63-time national player Götze, who played his last international match on November 14, 2017 against France, would be the Japanese international Daichi Kamada, who is admired for his skill on a good day but rarely shows consistency. In addition, Kamada’s contract only runs until 2023, so a sale is not completely out of the question.

Lucas Alario should also come

The fact is that the Hessian Bundesliga club is making significant changes to the squad that has performed so convincingly on the international stage but disappointed at national level. According to the “kicker”, the signing of striker Lucas Alario from Bayer Leverkusen is also in the offing in Frankfurt. Eintracht should basically agree with the 29-year-old Argentine. There are still alleged differences with the Leverkusen team about the amount of the transfer fee.

Argentinian midfielder Nicolas Castro is also set to come to Frankfurt. The 21-year-old currently plays for Newell’s Old Boys in his home country. A million transfer fee would also be due for him.
