Eintracht Frankfurt announces another newcomer

After Eintracht Frankfurt introduced Ellyes Skhiri from 1. FC Köln as a new signing on Wednesday, the SBU came up with another reinforcement just one day later.

Eight-time national player Robin Koch is moving from Leeds United to Eintracht Frankfurt. The centre-back is on loan from the Premier League relegated team for next season. According to media reports, he could then move permanently to the SGE.

“Robin is a guy who leads the way on and off the pitch and takes responsibility. At almost 27 he is at the perfect footballing age, and he also brings valuable experience from the Bundesliga and Premier League that he will bring to our team.” said Markus Krösche.

The sports director added: “The fact that many well-known clubs have dealt with him in recent weeks and were interested, but he has chosen us, shows how much Robin identifies with the task. This is a very important and good basis for good cooperation.”

In the struggle for Koch, the SGE prevailed against league competitor Bayer Leverkusen. The Werkself were also said to be very interested.

Koch himself is looking forward to becoming a part of Eintracht Frankfurt. “The club is one of the most renowned clubs in the Bundesliga and has also been a flagship of German football in Europe in recent years. With the new coach, the strong squad and the opportunities here in the club, this is a very exciting challenge for me approach with maximum motivation,” emphasized the 26-year-old.

Koch completed 73 games in the English top flight for his club Leeds United.

In Frankfurt, Koch is to replace Evan Ndicka. This changed in the current transfer period to AS Roma. There, the Ivorian signed a long-term contract until 2028.
