Eintracht contract? That’s why Frankfurt coach Glasner is “in no hurry”

Crashed in the Champions League at the Italian top club SSC Naples, in the Bundesliga for four games without a win: The engine of the reigning Europa League winner Eintracht Frankfurt has been stuttering for a few weeks. And then there are also a whole series of open personal details that still need to be clarified according to the current status. Above all, head coach Oliver Glasner’s question about the future is currently being discussed around Eintracht.

The latest media reports have already shown that a decision on a possible contract extension of the Austrian in the Main metropolis is far from in sight.

On the contrary: As “Sky” reported on Monday evening, the 48-year-old should currently see “no rush” at all to extend his working paper at Frankfurt, which expires in 2024.

According to the media report, a first draft contract that the club is said to have sent to the Glasner side has already been rejected. In any case, it would have to be “readjusted” again, it said.

Glasner looks at the sporting perspective

Oliver Glasner took over the SBU in the summer of 2021 and led directly to winning the Europa League title in his first season. After things had been going uphill for a long time in the Bundesliga, there were several setbacks for Frankfurt since the turn of the year.

In the 2023 calendar year, Eintracht only won three out of ten games and only ranks ninth in the imaginary annual table.

Glasner wants to link his stay with the Hessians above all to the sporting perspective. In plain language: If the qualification for the Champions League and Europa League is missed, the talks about a new one- or two-year contract could finally fail.

Rumor has it that the head coach has also been traded at clubs in England. According to the current state of information, SBU sports director Markus Krösche in particular is only too happy to continue working with Glasner and sees him as the ideal coach for the increased ambitions of the eagle bearers in the future.
