Eintracht Braunschweig is pulling the ripcord: After the U23’s weak start to the season, the head coach of the upper league team has to leave. An ex-professional is now also responsible.

Eintracht Braunschweig’s U23’s weak start to the season has consequences: U23 head coach Fabian Adelmann will be relieved of his duties with immediate effect. The BTSV announced this on Tuesday evening. The coach’s release is a reaction to the disappointing season. The current coaching team will now look after the team together with Armin Causevic, head of the youth performance center, and ex-professional Ken Reichel.

Sports coordinator Dennis Kruppke explains: “The season so far has been anything but satisfactory. It’s not just the lack of results that worries us, but also the performances shown.” After the eighth defeat of the season – the U23s lost 1:3 against VfV Hildesheim despite numerous professionals in the starting line-up – it was necessary to think about it.

Ultimately, they “no longer had the conviction” that they could overcome the critical situation in the previous constellation, Kruppke continued. “In this situation, the team needs a new approach and fresh impulses. We would like to thank Fabian for his commitment over the past year and a half and wish him all the best for the future.”

Adelmann took over Eintracht’s U23s for the 2024/25 season. In his first season he and the team managed to stay in the league as a promoted team. However, the “Young Lions” are currently in a disappointing last place with only four points.
