Eintracht Braunschweig has returned to the promotion zone in the 3rd division.
Due to the disappointing 1:1 (0:1) against relegation candidate SC Verl, the ex-champion remained without a win for the third time in the last four league games, but was able to push the equal-points rival 1. FC Saarbrücken back out of relegation rank due to the better goal difference.
Verl left the relegation zone after two consecutive defeats.
Braunschweig is two points behind second-placed 1. FC Kaiserslautern on the first promotion rank. Table leaders 1. FC Magdeburg are already making big strides towards the second division a further twelve points ahead.
Frederik Lach (6th) surprisingly gave the visitors the lead early on. Bryan Henning equalized for the hosts 14 minutes after the restart.
