Eintracht boss as Kahn successor? Hellman says so

Star striker Randal Kolo Muani is not the only person from Eintracht Frankfurt who has been linked to a possible move to Bayern Munich in recent days and weeks. With Axel Hellmann, one of the SBU club bosses was even traded at Munich. He now reacted again to the rumors that had arisen.

Even before the semi-finals in the DFB Cup during the week, Hellmann had ensured clear conditions by extending his contract as CEO at Eintracht Frankfurt.

In an interview with “Bild TV”, the 51-year-old made it clear once again that FC Bayern had no serious interest.

“There was neither a specific request nor a specific offer to replace Oliver Kahn or anything like that. That’s all wrong,” said Hellmann, who has been spokesman for the board at Eintracht for almost two years.

Hellmann: “FC Bayern is a great club, but…”

He did not want to deny that there was direct and regular contact between him and officials of the German record champions from Munich: “You have to exchange ideas, you have to talk to each other, that applies to the members of the board of directors, occasionally also applies to the members of the supervisory board, that is perfectly clear. Of course, we also talk about strategies and other things,” says Hellmann.

The lawyer has been on the board of Eintracht Frankfurt since 2012. In his early years he was primarily responsible for marketing, communication and merchandising.

Hellmann concluded with a statement that the Hessians should be only too sympathetic to: “FC Bayern is a great club, but my home is Eintracht Frankfurt.”

Previously, Hellmann was also associated with a move to the German Football League (DFL). He has already rejected these speculations.
