Shortly before midnight on Tuesday, two young men are out and about in Schiller-Kiez on Herrfurthplatz (Neukölln). Suddenly a car comes and several shots are fired. A 20-year-old is hit in the leg and collapses with serious injuries. He is said to belong to the O. clan family. His friend suffers a graze.

It was around 11:50 p.m. on Tuesday evening when the shots were fired on the corner of Schillerpromenade and Herrfurthplatz. Local residents called the police. Witnesses say they heard eight shots.

“The car then sped away with screeching tires,” said a witness.

The two injured dragged themselves about 200 meters further to Herrfurtstrasse in front of a restaurant. The police and fire brigade also arrived there. While the seriously injured man was taken to a hospital, his friend’s injury was treated on the spot as an outpatient. He refused hospitalization.

A homicide commission immediately began investigating and secured clues. Shortly after midnight, a burned-out car is found on the Delft shore in Britz – it is said to be the vehicle from which the shot was fired.

Forensic technicians were still busy with the crime scene work the next morning. Traces were secured at a house entrance on Herrfurthstraße, which is 170 meters away from the crime scene, on the other side of the square.

It is still unclear why the shots were fired. The homicide investigation into an attempted homicide is still in its infancy.

According to BZ information, the seriously injured person is said to be a member of the O. family.

This applies to Berlin clan families as a “mercenary troop” that would accept orders.
