There has never been such a synchronized birth at Tierpark Berlin. On March 27th, the two camel ladies Samantha (5) and Pari (7) gave birth to their cubs after a gestation period of around 13 months.

“It’s really a very big coincidence or just luck,” said a zoo spokeswoman. No one can say exactly how the two camel children were born at the same time, as the births took place at night. However, one thing is certain: both times, stallion Larson (10) is the father.

A total of 10 Bactrian camels now live in the zoo. The two (half) siblings, a boy and a girl, already feel very comfortable on the large camel meadow.
