At the fair of Venray, eight people were slightly injured on Monday evening when they were in a carousel. According to the municipality, one of them had to go to hospital for treatment.
What exactly happened is unclear. The eight were in the Europe Flyer around 10:20 pm, a whirligig that goes 40 meters into the air. The municipality says in a statement that the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) will investigate the facts. Until then, the attraction is closed.
The municipality calls on other occupants of the attraction and bystanders to report for contact and aftercare.
