Eight aid workers in danger of death due to explosion in German apartment building, possible targeted attack | Abroad

Ten firefighters and two police officers were injured in an explosion in Ratingen, Germany, near Düsseldorf. According to regional newspaper Rheinische Post eight people are in danger.

Emergency services were called to help someone in an apartment in an apartment building. The explosion would have occurred when many emergency services were present in the home. According to TV channel ZDF do security services take into account a targeted attack. After the explosion, special police units, including snipers, were deployed.

According to ZDF a mother and her son live in the house and the son would have set off the explosion. The German magazine The Mirror reports that it concerns a possible corona denier. The mother would have been seen in the house, it is not known whether the son is still there, writes ZDF.

The regional minister of the interior reported that the homeowners’ association called the police around 10 a.m. There would be a fire in the son’s room. The police assumed someone needed help. Because the door was not opened, the fire brigade was called in to open the door. The big explosion is said to have occurred at 11:15 am The Mirror.
