Effenberg recommends this coach to FC Schalke 04

After the departure of Dimitrios Grammozis, FC Schalke 04 is desperately looking for a new coach. TV expert Stefan Effenberg now recommends an internal solution for the royal blues.

“You can see from this dismissal that they absolutely have to get promoted. After this defeat you had to react and send a signal,” Effenberg showed in his “sports1“-Column understanding of the Grammozis dismissal.

However, the 53-year-old does not know whether the separation will have an effect, “because the competition up there is also stable,” says Effenberg.

The ex-professional from FC Bayern therefore advises those responsible for Schalke to find an internal solution: “Now you have to get someone from your own ranks who doesn’t need any start-up time, but works immediately. You no longer have time for someone who is only starting to think about it have to get used to the new environment.”

Effenberg sees Mike Büskens as the right man. “He knows the characters and also knows how to approach the boys,” pointed out the former midfielder.

Büskens is currently assistant coach at Schalke. The club icon had already stepped in as an interim coach for the Knappen in 2008 and 2008.

Effenberg leathers against Gladbach professionals

In his column, Effenberg also commented on the ongoing crisis at Borussia Mönchengladbach. After the 2: 3 bankruptcy against VfB Stuttgart, he went to court with the players of his former club.

“Somehow they aren’t there at all, you can see that in the interviews. I have the feeling that the players’ thoughts are somewhere in negotiations with other clubs in the summer,” said the vice-European champion from 1992, the missing leading player complained about in the foals.

FC Bayern currently “not stable”

Effenberg also found critical words for Bayern’s performance, which did not go beyond a 1-1 draw with Bayer Leverkusen. “With other teams you can moderate weaknesses, but with Bayern there is pressure,” wrote the 53-year-old.

The German record champions are “not stable” in the current phase and have “a lot to lose” in the Champions League second leg against RB Salzburg.

In the first leg, Bayern and Salzburg drew 1-1.
