Eetu Selänne plans to continue in Mestis for the rest of the season.

Finishing his university studies and returned to Finland Eetu Selänne was also ineffective in his third Mestis match, when Kiekko-Vantaa left Heinola’s Peliita goalless and took the offered points 3–0. The red pen also came from the cooldown in the second set, when Selänne, who describes himself as an emotional player, gave the opponent a cross stick in the middle area. Moments earlier, Seläntee also showed an extra push after the whistle, from which the home team Eetu Oksanen paid back with a strike of his own.

Selänne, who has become Mesti’s most followed player from Kertalaki, does not feel that the opponent is interested in him any more than in others. According to his own words, the big-name striker is not the type to get easily fired up.

– Sometimes someone tries to get under the skin, but I don’t pay much attention to it. Anyway, I play a physical game and try to get into the right mood on the ice.

Recovering from California’s daily rhythm has taken time. November Finland has at least not yet discouraged the celebrity of Peliitto.

– The mood is a little different here and the weather has been beautiful. You just have to remember to take more vitamin D.

The rest of the season in Mesti

Eetu Selänte’s test contract in Peliitoi ends in December, but even though the results are still at zero, in Heinola we are sure to be satisfied with the performance of the man who turns 25 next week. The player who plays for Right believes that the cooperation will continue beyond the Christmas holidays.

– Yes, I believe that I will stay here for the whole season, the Peliitat player says.

Selänte’s immediate future seems quite clear at this point, because after the season the forward is preparing for the season starting in the summer. But after the army, the goal-oriented hockey player may be seen in better leagues than Mesti. Naturally, a step up could mean the SM league.

– Yes, it (SM league) interests me. It has always been a dream to get higher and play.

Selänne can’t name his favorite club from the SM league, but Jokerit is of course important because of his father’s history. HIFK’s colors are also interesting.

– I would think that it (HIFK shirt) would look really good on me, Selänne grins.
