Eero Kilpeläinen ends his career

The goalkeeper who scored the most zero games and matches played in the SM League Eero Kilpeläinen end his long career.

Kilpeläinen, 36, represented KalPaa for the last seasons of his career. In the Finnish Championships, he also represented Aces and Jokers in his career.

Kilpeläinen was chosen as the best goalkeeper in the Finnish Championship League in the 2016–2017 season, when he defeated KalPan for silver.

– Now is a good time to quit. It feels like I’ve gotten my potential measured as a hockey player. There have been a lot of turns in my own career, and gratitude is paramount when you think back to your own career, Kilpeläinen comments In the KalPan press release.

In the last season of his career, Kilpeläinen defeated KalPa as the number one goalkeeper in 41 matches with a defeat percentage of 89.1.

Kilpeläinen’s career also includes one representation of adult values, when he served as the third guard of the Lions at the 2018 World Championships.

– For you too, now is a good time to leave the hammer business to the younger ones, because the body is not quite scrap yet. I have received my share of injuries and it would be really sad to have to stop the injury, Kilpeläinen continued.

In his last season, Kilpeläinen overtook the second legend of KalPa in the goal number statistics Pasi Kuivalainen.
