Assen has a new helmsman in the city center. Edwin Boomstra will be ‘inner city director’ of the Drenthe capital from 1 May. He succeeds Kjeld Vosjan, who stops work after six years.

Boomstra has been Coevorden center manager since 2021. “I enjoyed Coevorden, but I always said that if Assen or my birthplace comes by, I really want to be active there,” says Boomstra about his career switch. “I live in Veendam and am oriented in Assen, definitely come to Assen once a month and soon every week. I am very happy that I can help Assen further.”

Kjeld Vosjan will remain the city center director of the city center organization Vaart until the end of June and will start working for some time. The new helmsman must ensure, among other things, an attractive center. One of his assignments is to reduce the vacancy rate.
