The third men’s slalom of the World Cup season takes place in the traditional ski resort of Val d’Isere in France.

Finland’s Eduard Hallberg only started the opening round with number 24 and found himself on a well-worn track. Right from the first gates, it seemed that the Finn’s ski was really close to sneaking off the wrong side of the stick.

However, Hallberg managed to finish the fight. The difference to the leader was 2.08 seconds. Hallberg’s ranking is 19th while the round is still in progress.

Swiss Loic Meillard is the winner of the opening round. Norwegian Timon Haugan missed the lead by 0.05 seconds.

Otherwise, the time differences became large. Interruptions were thrown into the box like a buckle. The marking of the course and the condition of the slope really challenged the athletes.

The second Finn in the competition Jesper Pohjolainen start with number 52. The second round starts at 2 p.m.

Hallberg had a sensational start to the season with Levi finishing third. In the Gurgli race, the 22-year-old Finn stopped.

Before Sunday’s race, Hallberg is sixth in the overall standings of the slalom cup.
