Goal and Assist
Inter Milan got their first win in the Champions League. Just under a week after the 0-2 draw against FC Bayern Munich, the Italians won 2-0 (1-0) in Group C at Viktoria Pilsen on Tuesday. While Inter got the first three points, the Czech soccer champions are at the bottom of the table without any points. Pilsen had lost 1:5 at FC Barcelona at the start.
With national player Robin Gosens in the starting XI, coach Simone Inzaghi’s team took the lead after 20 minutes through former Wolfsburg Bundesliga professional Edin Dzeko. The Bosnian shot into the right corner after a pass from Gosens and Joaquín Correa. After a red card for Pilsen’s Pavel Bucha (61′), Denzel Dumfries increased the lead to 2-0 (70′) after a Dzeko pass.
In Frankfurt Group D, Sporting Lisbon clinched their second success with a late 2-0 (0-0) win over Tottenham Hotspur. After the 3-0 win at Eintracht last week, Paulinho headed in for the hosts in the 90th minute to make it 1-0. Arthur Gomes made it 2-0 (90+3). Tottenham could not use the playful superiority and still have three points in their account.
