Ederson joins Atalanta Bergamo from US Salernitana

3. Bergamo transfer

Atalanta Bergamo have signed Brazilian midfielder Éderson from US Salernitana. The 23-year-old only switched from the Corinthians to SAL last winter for 6.5 million euros and was a key factor in the club’s relegation in the back series with three goals in 15 games. The Lombards did not initially provide any information on the length of the contract, the transfer fee is said to be 21 million euros.

The latter makes the right foot the third most expensive transfer in Atalanta’s club history, with Bergamo already spending a total of 63 million euros on three newcomers in the current transfer summer – previously they had already secured the services of Sassuolo’s winger Jérémie Boga and those of central defender Merih Demiral from Juventus Turin . The Éderson transfer is also the fourth most expensive entry within Serie A for the 2022/23 season. For the player, Atalanta is the second stop in Europe. The club’s official statement states: “He is a dynamic all-round midfielder who knows how to combine quality with running power and knows how to play attacking football.”
