Eddie Murphy and Bill Murray were slated to play the roles of Batman and Robin in a film directed by Ivan Reitman that was never made. Murray said in an interview with Yahoo Entertainment: “I spoke to Eddie Murphy about it and he wanted to play Batman,” Murray said.
When asked if he would have been happy playing the role of Robin alongside Murphy as the Dark Knight, he replied, “I didn’t want to be anyone’s boy wonder. Maybe before when I was really a boy. But it was actually too late for that in the 1980s”. The outfit would have worried him too.
“Eddie looks good in purple and I look good in purple. But in green and red I look like one of Santa’s elves. There was just a lot of vanity involved in the production. It was clear it wasn’t going to happen.”
A new version of Batman was released in cinemas in early March with “The Batman”. Robert Pattinson takes on the role of Batman for the first time, Zoë Kravitz plays Catwoman.
