It all started with a flippant exchange on Instagram, but Ed Sheeran is apparently actually working on a song with death metallers Cradle of Filth. That’s what lead singer Dani Filth said in an interview with knot tight. So far, according to Filth, there is no release date: “It will be released when it’s finished.”
“We still have to finish our song with Ed Sheeran,” Filth said. “He was working on it, but then he had a kid and of course he got distracted by that, as well as what Ed is doing, which is playing huge gigs around the world. He is not available on demand. But he assures me that he will finish the song.”
“What interests me[about this collaboration]is the contrast between what we’re doing and what he’s doing,” Filth said in a previous interview. “It’s a bit of a challenge.” [andieserZusammenarbeit)interressiertistderKontrastzwischendemwaswirtununddemwasertut“sagteFilthineinemfrüherenInterview„EsisteinekleineHerausforderung“
Ed Sheeran himself gave the impetus for the collaboration last year with the comment that he used to be a big metal fan, listened to Slipknot and Cradle of Filth and might one day record a metal album himself. “I believe it when I see it,” Filth replied on Instagram. Most recently, Sheeran caused a stir with a re-recording of his hit single “Bad Habits,” for which he teamed up with rock band Bring Me The Horizon.
