At the BRIT Awards 2022, singer Ed Sheeran announced that he would soon release a song together with his good friend, US pop star Taylor Swift. The announcement caused great joy among the singer’s fans.
There has long been speculation about a renewed collaboration between the two stars and hints of a joint single discussed online.
During an interview on the BRIT Awards red carpet, Sheeran dropped the bombshell and revealed that the single should be released in just a few days. While no further details about the song have emerged, many fans are speculating that the collaboration could be a remix of Sheeran’s The Joker and the Queen. The track was first released on Sheeran’s fourth studio album =, then without Taylor Swift.
Rumors of a potential collaboration have swirled since fans spotted a Taylor Swift patch on the singer’s jacket in the music video for Sheeran’s song “Overpass.” Swift further fueled the rumors when a similar mark was featured inside a cake in her video for “Bet You Think About Me.”
The single would be Sheeran and Swift’s first song together. The Brit was already involved in three of Swift’s songs: “Everything Has Changed” on the album “Red”, “End Game” on “Reputation” and “Run” on “Red (Taylor Swift’s version)”.
The new single will be released on February 11th.
