At the FIVB Club World Championship hosted by China, Eczacıbaşı defeated China’s Tianjin Bohai Bank team with sets of 21-25, 23-25 and 19-25 in its second and last match in Group A and made its way to the semi-finals.
National volleyball player Melissa Vargas, who plays for Tianjin, did not play in the match due to her injury. On the other hand, Turkish volleyball referee Nurper Özbar officiated in this competition.
Completing its group as the undefeated leader, Eczacıbaşı Dynavit will face Brazil’s Dentil Praia Clube team, which finished second in Group B, in the semi-finals.
