TOstill looking at the stars, also in 2022. The sky of the new year promises to be full of surprises. And the astronomical calendar predicts a series of appointments not to be missed, which this time will also concern Italy.
The absolute protagonists will be two total eclipses of the Moon, but there will also be room for two partial solar eclipses, showers of stars and a spectacular alignment of planets.
Eclipse of the moon and the sun
The first appointment will be with the first partial solar eclipse on April 30th, but this it will not be visible from Italy, but only in the southernmost part of South America and in the southeastern Pacific area. We will be able to see it in streaming if anything.
May 16instead, there will be a magnificent one total eclipse of the Moon, which can be seen, even if only partially, from Italy in the early hours of the day.
Super Moon also coming in 2022
Even in 2022 it will be possible to admire two Supermoons, respectively on June 14 and July 13. According to the names used by Native Americans, it will be the Supermoon of strawberry in June and the Supermoon of the deer in July, two events not to be missed for any reason.
The alignment of five planets
But the best thing not to be missed will be the alignment of five planets, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn which will also be seen with the naked eye between 20 and 27 June.
The Perseids of August, the most anticipated shooting stars of the yearinstead, they will unfortunately be disturbed by the presence of the Moon.
And we come to autumn: two more eclipses of the moon and the sun
In autumn there will then be room for two more eclipses: that partial of the Sun on 25 October, visible from Italy e the second of Luna, total, but which unfortunately will be invisible from our country.
The magical year for astronomy enthusiasts it will close with the Geminid rain in December, meteor shower that usually shows itself between days 3 and 19 of the last month, with a peak between 13 and 14.
