19-year-old volleyball player Julia Ituma fell from the window of the hotel she was staying in Istanbul and died. After the match they played, the team came to the hotel and found Julia Ituma lying motionless at the entrance of the hotel at around 05:30 in the morning. Medical teams determined that Ituma was dead.
While the police teams started an investigation on the incident, it was learned that Julia Ituma, a Nigerian-born Italian citizen, stayed on the 6th floor of the hotel. Ituma was also reported to have said in a conversation with his other teammates and team coach that they didn’t know if he had any problems.
It was reflected in the security camera that Julia Ituma walked down the corridor where her room was located between 22:30 and 23:50, sat on the floor in front of her room’s door and stood sadly for a while, and then entered her room.
It was revealed that Ituma, who told his teammates and head coach that he was not well during the night, wrote ‘Good by’ to the team’s shared WhatsApp group before throwing himself out the window.

Ebrar, who left Istanbul with his team yesterday afternoon, shared a photo of him hugging Ituma; “My love Titu… I wish I could hug you one more time. You will always be in my heart. Rest in peace.”
