Like so many other shops, Ebay wants to be a part of Black Friday. But even in the days before that, the company offered some good offers in the field of technology. Among other things, there are coupons that can be used to save money. TECHBOOK summarizes the offers on Ebay for Black Friday and Cyber Week.
As in previous years, potential customers primarily focus on high-quality items such as technology or kitchen appliances. But despite all the joy about potential bargains, customers should be careful. Time-limited offers in particular are intended to tempt you to make a quick purchase. We asked Stephanie Nolte, Consumer PR Germany from Ebay, what customers should consider on Black Friday and Cyber Week in order to get good deals and not fall for scammers.

With all the anticipation for Black Friday – how do customers recognize real bargains from the multitude of offers? To find out exactly that, users of the site have the opportunity to check the price. Even if there are many different providers on Ebay with low prices during Cyber Week and Black Friday, it is possible that not all of them are good price offers. “Basically, users can always use online comparison portals such as idealo* to check prices and also keep an eye on the shipping costs of the individual offers,” says Stephanie Nolte.
In general, Black Friday is also one of the main shopping days for users. So that they can shop without a guilty conscience, users should pay attention to certain criteria before making a purchase in order not to fall for a scam. For example, the potential buyer has the opportunity to view the seller’s profile. Has the seller sold something before? What were the ratings of other buyers who bought from this seller? What details about the purchase do the other Ebay users give? This alone allows a user to check a possible purchase in advance. In addition, Ebay’s seller standards support users. These are criteria that a commercial seller must meet if they want to sell something on the platform. “The seller standards help us to identify and sanction sellers who do not trade to the high satisfaction of buyers on eBay,” says Nolte. This also helps prevent fraud.

What does Ebay do against fraudsters on the marketplace?
The portal tries to prevent fraud attempts by striving to avoid such incidents as early as possible. “On the basis of a highly developed risk management system, we proactively look for attempts at misuse and initiate appropriate sanctions that can extend to a final exclusion from trading on Ebay,” explains Stephanie Nolte to TECHBOOK. In addition, Ebay also follows up information that the company receives from users. “It is in our own interest to act as quickly as possible in such cases, because every bad buying experience damages our marketplace and honest buyers and sellers,” Nolte continues.
The best time for bargain hunting
On Black Friday, most people look for the best deals at certain times. “The early bird catches the bargain – on Black Friday, a particularly large number of bargain hunters are active on Ebay early in the morning. There is a smaller peak during the lunch break and after work many customers really hit it again,” says Stephanie Nolte.

Black Friday and Cyber Week deals
Ebay is focusing on sustainability for this year’s Black Friday. In its own re-store, the company therefore offers new, used and refurbished items at lower prices. Ebay lists the top deals of the day on its own promotion page. From now on buyers can use the discount code RESTORENOV22 Save 10 percent on numerous products in the categories Smartphones and Tablets, Laptops and Desktops, Household Appliances and DIY, and Auto Parts and Accessories. The maximum discount granted is 50 euros. The coupon can be redeemed up to twice, the promotion itself runs until November 30, at 11:59 p.m.
Ebay also offers new goods for Black Friday and Cyber Week. The offers can be found in Deals section of the portal and change regularly.
