Kembit Lions and Herpertz Bevo can celebrate carnival with a victory over their pocket. Lions had no child at home with HC Atomix, won 42-20 and is almost certain of a place in the last four of the BeNe-League. Bevo won at home 33-25 against the last player Quintus.
Kempit Lions
Kembit Lions had to compete in the Stadssporthal in Sittard against HC Atomix, the number penultimate in the BeNe-League. The people of Sittard were already ahead 5-0 after barely four minutes against the men from Haacht in Belgium. Atomix seemed to be heading for a huge punishment and was already 23-11 down halfway the game.
After the break, Lions slowed down a bit and it took a while before coach Jauernik’s team increased the score further. Halfway through the second half, Lions led 30-14. Lions was not satisfied with that margin, because in the remaining time the team from Sittard took even more distance from the Belgians and ended the game with a 42-20 win.
After this win, Lions has 30 points from 19 games and is almost certain of a place in the Final4.
Herpertz Bevo
Herpertz Bevo was visited by Quintus in Panningen. The game against the final player was equal in the beginning, but after fifteen minutes of play, Lambert van Berlo’s team distanced itself from the men from Kwintsheul. At halftime, Bevo was leading 14-11.
It was only seven minutes after the restart that Quintus managed to work the ball into Bevo’s goal again. In the meantime, the home team had scored four more times in De Heuf and built up a comfortable lead. With fifteen minutes to play, Bevo was leading 22-15. That lead was never jeopardized again. Bevo won the match 33-25 and remains ninth in the BeNe-League with 15 points from 20 games.
