The surprise team Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven lost for the first time on the sixth day of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).
The North Germans lost 2:3 (0:1, 1:2, 1:0) to the Schwenninger Wild Wings in their own hall and had to give up the lead in the table to ERC Ingolstadt, who won the derby against the Straubing Tigers 5:2 (2: 2, 2-0, 1-0) won.
The new leader Ingolstadt (2.5 points per game) has managed to score in every game of the season so far. Against the neighbor Straubing there was the third three in a row despite an initially playful 2-0 lead.
Champion Eisbären Berlin meanwhile lost the classic against Adler Mannheim 2:4 (0:1, 1:1, 1:2) and is one of only two teams in the league still waiting for their first win after regular time. Mannheim’s Borna Rendulic (7th/52nd) scored twice in the repeat of last year’s play-off semifinals.
The Löwen Frankfurt managed a surprise: The newly promoted defeated runner-up Red Bull Munich after two deficits with 4: 3 (0: 1, 3: 1, 0: 1, 0: 0, 1: 0) after a penalty shootout.
The Kölner Haie meanwhile clinched their first away win in a 2-0 (0-0, 2-0, 0-0) win against bottom team Bietigheim Steelers. The Steelers still only have one point on their account.
