DZOH wins at Achilles 1894 and takes period title

FOOTBALL – It was not good, but the battle of both teams made up for a lot this afternoon in Assen, where DZOH eventually came out on top in the game against Achilles 1894. The formation from Emmen won 0-1 and also received help from DESZ . That team won against fellow leader Gorecht, making DZOH the winner of the first period title in the 2nd division J.

The cheers in the dressing room were justified, because after nine matches, the team of coach Bert Doldersum is still unbeaten and with 25 points, the lead over Gorecht is three points. By the way, that team will be the next opponent next week, in Emmen.

Jubilee Tjong-A-Sie in the shower early

DZOH was the best footballing team against Achilles 1894, but for a long time lacked punching power. The home team tried to make it a fighting match, played well organized and so there were few chances to score. Before the break there were only two dangerous moments to note. Both from a free ball. Leon Regtop of Achilles 1894 saw his attempt turned by DZOH goalkeeper Diederik Bangma and on the other side Tom Bosman saw his free ball end up in the hands of Achilles goalkeeper Morten Otto. Incidentally, Achilles jubilee Romario Tjong-A-Sie (he played his 100th game for the Asser club) was already showered. The swift attacker was out with a hamstring injury.

Carpenter scores, Achilles 1894 angry

Shortly after the break, DZOH took the lead through defender Aron Timmerman. He gratefully took advantage of the vacillating action of the Achilles defense, who waited for the whistle from referee Sam Tyler. But the referee did not whistle for Mart Oosting’s head injury. The captain of Achilles 1894 grabbed his head after a duel, but despite requests from several Achilleans to whistle, Tyler let play continue. Timmerman then shot in: 0-1. The anger of Achilles trainer Harold Wekema earned him a yellow card. “I thought he should whistle, but he let me know that Mart was acting and was not hit at all,” said Wekema.

Flame in the pan

Shortly afterwards, the flames ignited again, with a hand-to-hand fight outside the lines. The protagonists were Tim Migchelsen from Achilles 1894 and Max Heijnen from DZOH. Heijnen won the game, threw Migchelsen to the ground. Worthy of a red card perhaps, but Tyler stuck to yellow.

After that, the home team was no longer in a position to make it really difficult for DZOH. Achilles 1894 did not get further than a header from Oosting. On the other hand, the team from Emmen could have lifted the score to 0-2 in the counterattack, but the best man on DZOH side Tim Aasman got the ball past Otto twice.
