FOOTBALL – In the 2nd division J, DZOH did what it had to do in the battle for the championship. The people of Emmen won, nobility obliged, 0-3 at Oosterwolde and saw after the game that competitor Gorecht had lost points against LTC: 3-3.
Because of these results, DZOH has three points ahead of Gorecht, with three games left to play.
Joël Zweerink once again proved his great value for trainer Roy Stroeve’s team by making the 0-1 early in the first half and 0-2 shortly after the break. Bjorn Jansen determined the final score at 0-3, which means that DZOH is still unbeaten after 23 of the 26 matches.
Help for DZOH came from Haren, where LTC took a point against Gorecht. It was 3-3 after a 2-2 halftime score. Sven Hazewinkel, the top scorer in the 2nd division J, took care of the 1-0 and 2-1 for Gorecht. But both times LTC tied the score. Richard Mulder was responsible for the 1-1 and Imre de Jonge scored the 2-2 just before half time. Shortly after the break, Gorecht took the lead for the third time, but again LTC did not give up. Imre de Jonge scored his second goal of the afternoon in the 55th minute.
There are also exciting weeks ahead for LTC. The Assenaren will have to remain at least fourth to make it to the post-competition.
DZOH now has 53 points from 23 matches. Gorecht follows on three points. Gramsbergen is now in third place with 36 points from 23 matches. LTC also has 36 out of 23, but a worse goal difference. The fifth place is for DESZ, which, like Bedum, has 33 points. DESZ already played 22 matches and Bedum 23 matches.
