Dynamo supports Ukrainian player from Mariupol

Dresden (AP) – Dynamo Dresden supports the Ukrainian footballer Kyrylo Melitschenko from FK Mariupol who fled from the war.

The second division organized a flight to Dresden for the 21-year-old right-back, found a place to live and an interpreter for visits to the authorities. On Friday, Melitschenko trained with Dynamo for the first time, albeit initially only individually with assistant trainer Heiko Scholz and athletic trainer Matthias Grahé. The club announced. Melitschenko only keeps fit at Dynamo, is not a tryout player and will not be used.

Until the end of the season, Melitschenko was a regular at the Ukrainian first division club Mariupol. His club’s venue and training ground are almost completely destroyed. The port city of Mariupol is one of the regions of Ukraine most affected by the war.
