The Romanian coach has decided to leave the bench of the Ukrainian club. No wins in the last month, seventh place after ten games and the defeat against rivals as the straw that broke the camel’s back
Mircea Lucescu is no longer the coach of Dinamo Kiev. The Romanian coach, who turned 78 in July, decided to resign after the 1-0 defeat in the Ukrainian classic against Shaktar. Lucescu returned to the Dynamo bench in the 2020/21 season, guiding them to victory in the championship, national cup and super cup. After the third place obtained last season, this year the team has had an uphill start. After ten games played, Dynamo is in seventh place, with their last victory dating back to October 1st. In the last four matches there have been three defeats and one draw.
THE DECISION – This afternoon’s match against rivals Shaktar could have represented an opportunity to reverse the trend, but the guests prevailed with a score of 1-0, certifying Dynamo’s crisis. At the end of the match, Lucescu decided to resign, leaving the club after three and a half years.
