Lost loan
SC Verl has played its way to the promotion relegation spot in the 3rd league with eight games in a row without defeat (see table) – not least thanks to its top scorer Oliver Batista Meier, who also leads the league-wide ranking with 19 goals in 16 games. However, the loan from Dynamo Dresden could leave East Westphalia again in the winter, according to a report.
This is what the “Picture“-Newspaper that a corresponding clause is anchored in the loan contract of the 22-year-old offensive force, which runs until the end of the season and whose working paper in Saxony is dated until 2025. This enables Dynamo to bring their player back early. In view of Batista Meier’s convincing quota and the fact that Verl could pose a threat to the currently second-placed Dresden team in the promotion fight, the club officials in Florence on the Elbe are reportedly considering corresponding considerations.

Batista Meier, who trained at FC Bayern Munich and won the double with the record champions in the 2019/20 season, recently experienced an increase in his market value for the first time since summer 2020 (see history). After a temporary loan to SC Heerenveen, the right-footer with Brazilian roots moved to Dynamo in January 2021 for a transfer fee of 300,000 euros. Under coach Guerino Capretti, he played 13 second division games for Dresden during the 2021/22 return series, but remained goalless and the team was relegated.
Under Markusbeginn he only made four short appearances in the 3rd league in the first half of the following season before he made the move to Verl. “Oli is a very big talent. “But he has to see that he can get out of the talent status and assert himself,” Beginn explained at the time. With a view to Batista Meier’s current statistics, the coach is now likely to reassess the situation.
